it’s coming

April 3rd, 2009 , Posted in Lifestyle photography

I am lens-less. I ordered a spanky new lens and I’m waiting for it to come, meanwhile not knowing it was on backorder, I sold my old lens. So, here I am a photographer without a lens. UGH! I haven’t posted in awhile and decided I’d dig out some old photos from the summer and post one. I had fun with this and it made me realize that summer is indeed on it’s way! YEAH!! Keep checking back for some new photos with the new lens, when it arrives!! Happy APRIL!!!

that face

March 6th, 2009 , Posted in Lifestyle photography

So, I have always wanted a dog. I had a dog growing up and she was my best friend. Fluffy was her name. She was the one who always agreed with me, listened to me and understood when a boyfriend dumped me or my parents made me mad. I thought I’d marry someone, have kids and get a dog. My husband, didn’t think the same. He is allergic to dogs. Not just like sneeze and move on allergic but like itchy eyes, can’t breathe, need an inhaler allergic. So, we compromised. The kids and I begged, pleaded and bargained and we broke him down. My friend Jen who works for an animal rescue called one day and had 2 puppies she had rescued from Virginia. She thought one would be perfect for our family, the family who wanted a dog, but didn’t want a dog. We met “Buttercup”. We changed her name to Zoe, and we fell in love. My husband the non-dog person now feeds her, cleans up her business out of the neighbors yard and loves her like we do. She is the best dog and has the cutest face with the weirdest body shape. We don’t know what kind of dog she is, but we don’t care. We {heart} her and she is the best. I challenge you to open up your home to a rescue dog if you are ready for a pet. They are truly the best types of dogs. She’s crazy like all of us now and fits into this nutty house perfectly. Thanks Zoe for being so stinking cute!

Connor was totally into eating the snow, not sure why, maybe he was hungry, thirsty. I did a little series and thought this was so cute. Had to post. He totally cracks me up. Someone give the child a drink!

till spring…..I can’t wait. We got one good snow this past week and that is enough for me, till next winter.  The blog contest goes as follows. I will be posting a few of my fav’s from 2008 and will have you, my trusty blog worthy friends to vote. The first photo to receive 25 “thumbs up” will get a FREE photo of their choice from their session. Ok, how cool is that. So keep watching, I have to get those photos posted and then start voting. I’m not as cute as Ryan Seacrest nor am I as annoying (I hope) but I love a good contest. Till them I’m sending you and yours warm hugs and hopefully my LAST snow photo of this winter.

Thought I’d change this up a little try something different. Ok, I promise the blog contest will be underway starting Monday. The winner will win a free 11×14 print so pass it on and get ready to VOTE! I can’t promise it will be as big as the last election, but close. Gotta run, spent went to much time with my laptop this week and husband is getting worried.

Enjoy the texture.

so cute

February 15th, 2009 , Posted in Lifestyle photography

I am in love with this little man and I can’t resist the opportunity to photograph him. He’s the son of one of my dearest friends and just the sweetest boy ever. It was cold and windy when we shot these and I didn’t even notice the 40 mph winds, I was loving taking photos of him so much. I lose myself when I photograph. I love it so much, I feel so relaxed, peaceful and all else could be chaos and I’m oblivious. I love the creativity of taking photos, the chance to capture a moment that won’t come again, the way time stands still. Ahhh….ok I know B O R I N G! Anyway, thanks for keeping up with my blog. More details on my photo shoot give away this week, I promise. Until then enjoy the cutest little boy ever.

February 4th, 2009 , Posted in Lifestyle photography

I like one good snowfall, but I have to admit, I’m ready for spring. :) I’m having a blog contest with a chance to win a free sitting for a photo shoot to get ready for spring! Stay tuned for details. For now, I leave you with a snowy photo of my little 5 year old. I can’t believe she’s 5 now. I’m already dreading that first day of Kindergarten.

Let it snow

January 28th, 2009 , Posted in Lifestyle photography

Oh my gosh, I have neglected this blog, badly. We’ve been so busy, really doing nothing. HA. I am not a winter person, don’t like being cold, don’t like temperatures below 75 really so I feel like hibernating lately. Sometimes I wonder why I live in PA? I’m a California girl at heart. :)  (although I’ve never even been to CA, it just sounds good) Anyway, I did manage to get some amazing shots of the kids in the snow, which is one nice thing about living in the NorthEast. Enjoy. It’s a snow day today, well snow/ice day. I’ve got some good chicken soup going and enjoying the day! I can also be found updating my facebook page more often than my blog, so sign up and look me up! It’s sort of addicting.

Happy holidays

December 16th, 2008 , Posted in Lifestyle photography

Yep, I’ve been blog lazy because of the holiday madness but had a little break today because my little one is sick. I took the kids out last week for some photos around town and got some great shots!! The Donohue family wishes you all the best this holiday season. May Santa brings you all you want (I’m secret wishing for a new lens and an imac) It’s snowing here today and I just love snowy days and all that the season has to offer.

Happy holidays!
