it keeps getting better

November 17th, 2009 , Posted in Lifestyle photography

This is such an amazing thing to be able to take photos and take a sneak peek into peoples lives if only for an afternoon. I am blessed. My passion for photography has turned into something I couldn’t even imagine and I’m busier than ever but loving every single second of it. This family have been friends of ours for years from church. I find Andrea one of the funniest friends I know and her facebook status’s always have a sense of humor attached to them. She makes me laugh and she is super stylish and has awesome hair. (ok, it’s not envy just saying) I met the family at Daniel Boone homestead and they were willing to do just about anything for fun. I thank you Mowery family for being so cool. You guys are the reason I love doing this. Enjoy your sneak peek.

Love.

a day out

November 8th, 2009 , Posted in Lifestyle photography

We’ve been sick in this house. Who knows if it’s swine flu, the regular flu, the Asian flu but either way it’s been through 4 of us and it’s miserable. Fever, cough, achy, headache. BLAH. I’m not a winter person. I like fall but then I know it will be long, cold, dark days ahead and it makes me sad. I love summer. Ok, back to the post….since we’ve been sick I needed  a day out of the house. I grabbed my camera and my best friend and we went to Ryerss Farm.  A farm for aged equines horses.  It is a retirement facility for aged and/or abused horses.  Founded in 1888, it is the country’s oldest, non-profit organization. Visit the website to learn more about them and to donate. My daughter and I love horses. I’d own one if I didn’t live in a development and owned a farm. They are such beautiful animals. We grabbed a couple shots while we were there and had fun shooting “wide” open on some of them. Enjoy them and stay healthy!

Up for anything

November 3rd, 2009 , Posted in Lifestyle photography

Amanda is the daughter of my friend Andrea who is an ICU nurse like myself. When Andrea asked me to do Amanda’s senior photos I was expecting a typical “teen” session…this was far from a typical session and I loved every minute of it. Amanda came dressed in boots, jeans and a leather jacket only to change 2 more times into a kilt and eventually a beautiful dress. She was able to transform in minutes into 3 total different looks and even was able to change in the local community library. (and then let me take her photos inside the library-to bad my camera has a loud shutter) I promised a sneak peak but honestly I have tons of great shots of her that I can’t wait to share them all. She was up for anything and I hope to get the chance to take her photos again! Thanks Amanda for being so awesome.

Hugs.

Pink. Princess. Party.

October 30th, 2009 , Posted in Lifestyle photography

Is it not every little girls dream to be treated like a princess, surrounded by pink on her birthday? I had the opportunity to photograph M’s 5th birthday party planned and organized by Rasheeda at Gaggles and Giggles. http://gagglesandgiggles.com/index.html  They do posh parties for little girls and boys and do an incredible job taking the stress off parents in party planning. This party included Cinderella and a horse drawn carriage ride around the property. I was wishing I was once again…5. Enjoy the photos in all their “pinkness”.

Hugs.

Ready set….GO.

October 25th, 2009 , Posted in Lifestyle photography

That is pretty much how I describe the shoot today with Jen and her beautiful family. Her little guy is 20 months old and gave all us a workout till we were done. Needless to say, he set the tone for the shoot and I realized just how hard little ones make you work for a good shot! Jen asked at one point if I miss having little ones and I can honestly say “no, I’m good”. LOL. Seriously, thanks Jen for allowing me to capture your family. I hope you enjoy the sneak peek.

Happy fall.

family

October 23rd, 2009 , Posted in Lifestyle photography

Now that I have loaded their gallery I wanted to share some more shots of the awesome family I did a few weeks back. They were so much fun and willing to do just about anything. Shooting 14 people is never easy, and getting them all organized and looking can be tough but this group knew how to work it! Thanks so much for sharing your family with me. Again, I love this job.

Enjoy.

To be a senior

October 15th, 2009 , Posted in Lifestyle photography

Wow. That was a long time ago for me. A senior in high school. The prom, being the oldest in the school, learning to drive, how fun. I was able to do a modeling session for 4 awesome girls and came away with so many great shots it was hard to chose for the blog. They rocked this session. They came prepared with lots of energy, a few changes of clothes and their personality. Thank you Dana, Amanda, Jenna and Lauren. I {heart} you girls and wish you all the best this year. I think you ladies made me realize that doing Senior Photography is something I LOVE! Enjoy these.

Hugs,

It’s all about family

October 12th, 2009 , Posted in Lifestyle photography

I had the pleasure of taking photos of Amy and her extended family including her Mom and brother on Saturday. The weather started out cold, damp and raining! I was worried since organizing 14 people for a photo shoot with everyones schedules can be impossible!! As you can see from this sneak peak the weather turned out amazing and we had such a good time. They were up for anything and I felt like I have known them longer than the 2 hours we spent together. Thanks for tolerating my “assistant” and for treking all around to find fun locations! You guys were great. Thank you and here’s your sneak peak! More to come.

Hugs

they don’t come prettier

October 11th, 2009 , Posted in Lifestyle photography

I am so lucky to be asked by people to do their photos. I mean, they PAY me to do something that I’d do for free. (ok, don’t tell anyone that) I love it. It makes me happy. I lose myself in it when I’m taking photos. Today I took photos of Grace and her doggie. Grace’s mommy is a friend of my sisters and how excited was I when she asked me to do shots of Grace. (you will see why) She is a beautiful little girl and her personality rocks! We took photos for over an hour and when I asked her if she wanted to be done, she chuckled and said “no”. Gotta love that! I couldn’t help but load this one right away as a sneak peak. Thanks Jenn for letting me take photos of Grace. More photos to come!

Hugs.
